How we know this

The storms: our hail history is built from publicly available National Weather Service and NOAA radar data (MESH hail-size estimates), cross-checked against ground reports filed with the NWS. Radar-indicated hail at a specific address is probabilistic — which is why every event on a property page carries a confidence tag, and why we suppress dollar estimates entirely when confidence is low. No map can replace a physical roof inspection, and we say so everywhere a number appears.

The buildings: property locations, sizes, and characteristics come from public records and licensed national property data sources covering commercial buildings over 20,000 square feet.

The estimate:the UnderEstimate™ is a statistical range based on historical claim outcomes for commercial buildings with comparable size, construction, and hail exposure, grounded in published replacement-cost data. It is deliberately conservative — we’d rather show you a number that’s too low than one that’s too high. It is not an assessment of your property, your policy, or any amount actually owed to you.
